So we maybe a bit late to the game with this one but back in April of this year the new Ultimate cheesy garlic bread finally made its way over to the UK, and (spoiler alert) let’s just say its a game changer.
We all know and love the classic BMT, which we have only just learnt stands for ‘BIGGEST, MEATIEST, TASTIEST’ but actually originally stood for ‘Brooklyn Manhattan Transit.’ Now don’t say we never teach you anything new!
The classic BMT comes filled with pepperoni, salami and ham, obviously with added cheese, were not criminals! Complete with the added extras of your choice and sandwiched between one of their delicious freshly baked breads. This is already one heck of a sandwich right? Now here’s where the game changer comes in, for an extra £2.00 you can now add garlic and parsley butter, mozzarella and red cheddar to make it the ULTIMATE BMT!
Now our question was, is it worth the extra money. Don’t get us wrong £2.00 extra isn’t exactly breaking the bank, but when it comes to a total of £7 per sandwich it’s starting to get a little on the expensive side,
Never the less we sank our teeth in and was greeted with an explosion of flavours, the garlic butter really does pack a punch and give a whole new experience to the sandwich! Its makes the sandwich a lot more richer in flavour, and gives it a more authentic Italian feel. The two different style cheeses also add a nice tang to it, with the mozzarella giving you an almost pizza like experience.
Needless to say we devouwered the lot within a few minutes, one of us however (Levi) found it bit sickly towards the very end, not enough to ruin the sandwich but she definitely couldn’t eat a foot long!
We both decided that the extra £2 was worth the money for the added garlic butter and cheese especially if you are sharing it between two of you! We also got a side of hash browns which are 99p for 6 from the saver menu, which is a great price, and we paid an extra £1.50 to make the sandwich a meal deal so it came with a drink and a cookie. That makes it just under £10 for a footlong ultimate sandwich, 6 hash browns, a cookie and a drink, we think that is pretty good value for money if you ask us, and the overall first bite test was a big thumbs up from bloggers eat!
