£6.99 for a meal
This weekend we decided to tackle Taco Bells volcano burrito, which Taco Bell claim is an explosion in your mouth! We are aware that this isn’t exactly brand new to the menu but its new to us okay so just roll with it…
The burrito comes with your choice of either beef, chicken or refried beans and filled with the necessary Mexican rice, sour cream and cheese, swaddled in a tortilla wrap. But what makes this burrito different is that is also comes equipped with crushed nachos and taco bells very own lava sauce! sounds good right?
Well we think we are going to have to disagree on this one. Now don’t get us wrong the lava sauce is a tad spicy, but it isn’t anywhere near the volcanic level, so unless you can’t handle your spice you are going to be pretty let down by the lack of heat! You might also thing the crushed nachos are going to add a nice crunch to your burrito…wrong! By the time you actually bite into it the juices and sauces from the rest of the filling have tainted the nachos and turned them soggy, so you can’t can’t actually tell they are in there anymore.
We both also had to agree on the fact that there was not enough sour cream or cheese in the burrito to break up all the flavours, we have previously tried the Dorito burrito and the sauce to filling ratio was absolutely perfect, but in this one we were slightly disappointed at the lack of it.
It.s safe to say we didn’t enjoy our trip to Taco Bell this time round which is s shame because we have never been disappointed by anything that we have tried their! This item also doesn’t come as a box meal which it claims to do on the website it just comes as an ordinary meal, so no extra taco or dessert with this one!
We still love Taco Bell we just won’t be getting this particular item again!
